Our kolaches are made from scratch the way they’re supposed to be — soft, warm, and worth waking up early for. Savory or sweet, classic or loaded, there’s something on our menu that’s going to become your new morning ritual.

01The Origin

Every great brand has an origin story. Ours starts at a county fair.

When Rolf was eight years old, he spotted a pig at an East Texas county fair and knew he had to have him. Eight dollars later, that pig was his — and the two were inseparable from day one. Rolf’s dad had a buddy who owned a bakery in Houston. Whenever he passed through, he’d bring back week-old kolaches to feed the pig. That pig went absolutely wild for them. So naturally, his dad named him Kolache Rolf.

02The Caricature

As Kolache Rolf grew, he became tame enough to ride.

They were quite a sight around the yard together. At the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, an artist captured that moment — a kid on his pig — in a caricature, and scrawled the name Kolache Rolf’s right on it. That drawing followed Rolf for years. When he stumbled across it again before getting married, he took it as a sign. It was time to open a bakery. And there was only one name it could be.

03Where We Are Now

From one sketch to your breakfast table.

What started as a childhood memory has grown into something real and delicious. Today, Kolache Rolf’s serves Bryan/College Station from two locations, with fresh kolaches out of the oven every morning starting at 6am. You can also find our products on shelves at HEB and through our food service partners across the region.
